ADVANCED TRAINING FOR ELITE LINEMEN
Even the best high school strength program will fall short of developing elite athletes. The reality is, a high school strength program is not designed to make above average players elite. Instead, it is designed to improve the performance of the entire team - which by default is made up of primarily average players.
For advanced athletes, these training programs often lack adequate amounts of stress, specificity, and personalization.
This is why elite players at the high school level seek out additional training in the off-season.

DEVELOPING THE PROTOTYPE LINEMAN
All offensive and defensive linemen have one thing in common. They are strong, fast, athletic, and can bend well and move in space.
Gone are the days of slow, oversized linemen. College coaches are looking for lean and athletic, not big and slow high school linemen. A 6' 3" 250 pound explosive linemen is more attractive than a 6' 5" 310 pound lineman that can't move. Simply put weight and size is easier to develop than athleticism and explosive ability.
These attributes must be developed in the off-season, and attention to detail must be placed on proper training methods, nutrition, mental toughness and goal setting to be successful.
